Three days a week is enough to get stronger. Train your whole body each session, with a rest day between: for example Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Pick one move for each pattern (squat, hinge, push, pull), do 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps, and stop each set with about 2 reps left. That fits in 45 to 60 minutes. Add a little weight or a rep when the last set feels easy.
The plan
- Day 1: goblet squat, push-up or bench press, one arm row, plank.
- Day 2: Romanian deadlift, overhead press, lat pulldown or assisted pull-up, split squat.
- Day 3: leg press or squat, incline press, cable or band row, side plank.
Rest about 2 minutes on the bigger moves and about 1 minute on the smaller ones. Write down what you lifted so next week you know where to start.
When a day falls through
Do not try to fit two sessions into one. Move the missed day to the next free day and carry on, or keep the first two moves and drop the rest if time is short. Two good sessions in a hard week still count.
Let the plan fit your week
In KalmeFit you tell Kalme you train three days a week, how long you have and what equipment is there: a full gym, home or bodyweight. Your plan is built around that, and every set you log is kept. With Plus, when today changes, Kalme adjusts today's workout and waits for your yes, and your plan steps up week to week.
Questions
Is 3 days a week enough to build strength?
Yes, for most people. Three full body sessions a week, with a rest day between and a little more weight or reps over time, is a solid way to get stronger.
How long should a 3 day a week workout take?
About 45 to 60 minutes: four moves, 2 to 3 sets each, with 1 to 2 minutes of rest between sets.
